Registration for the skills session is open to boys and girls in grades 5-12 in TJ and all neighboring districts! These sessions are provided by TJ Flag Football and Apex Sports Academy!

Matt Humbert
Coach Matt Humbert is a highly successful high school football coach with 15 years of head coaching experience, including 11 years at Belle Vernon Area High School. He has compiled an impressive career record of 120-31, leading the Leopards to back-to-back WPIAL and PIAA state championships in 2022 and 2023. His teams also reached the WPIAL championship in 2019 and 2021, both seasons finishing 11-1, and secured conference titles in 2015, 2017, 2020, and 2021.
Before his time at Belle Vernon, Coach Humbert led Ringgold High School to four straight WPIAL playoff appearances, including a 9-0 undefeated season and a Keystone Conference AAA Championship in 2010. A former player at California University of Pennsylvania, he earned both a bachelor's in education and a master's in sport management, serving as a graduate assistant coach during his time there. He began his coaching career at Cal U before taking on leadership roles at the high school level. Coach Humbert currently serves as Athletic Director at Belle Vernon Area High School and resides in the South Hills with his wife Kimberly and children Payton and Nolan.
Mike Collodi
Mike Collodi is a dedicated health and physical education teacher at South Park High School and a highly accomplished football coach with over 20 years of experience, including nine as a head coach. During his tenure at Elizabeth Forward and Mount Lebanon High Schools, he guided his teams to eight consecutive winning seasons (2016–2023), captured four conference championships, earned a WPIAL runner-up title, and received numerous coaching accolades. He was also selected to coach in the prestigious Big 33 Classic, showcasing the top high school talent in Pennsylvania.Earlier in his career, Mike was part of the University of Pittsburgh’s Strength and Conditioning football staff under renowned coach Buddy Morris, where he played a key role in designing and implementing training programs for future NFL athletes.
His coaching career spans several institutions, and he has held various leadership roles, including strength & conditioning coordinator. Collodi holds a master’s degree in Sports Management and a bachelor’s in Health and Physical Education. As a college athlete, he was a team captain, First Team All-OAC honoree, and a four-year varsity letterman at Muskingum University. Collodi lives in Eighty Four with his wife, Ali, and two sons Luca and Marco.
